About My Clients
I work with adults facing diverse obstacles, including anxiety, depression, grief, living with HIV/AIDS, life transitions, interpersonal conflicts, men's mental health and navigating sexuality and gender identity. My experience has been primarily with male-identified clients of all sexual orientations. I also work with many clients in the entertainment industry. I am knowledgeable and affirming around LGBTQIA+ identities and relationships.
My Background and Approach
Through a psychodynamic approach, I will support you on your journey of understanding the root causes of your challenges while identifying solutions to take concrete steps toward life changes. I consider myself a teammate on your journey. I believe everyone has strengths that they can use as foundation for creating change. Finding a deeper understanding of your whole self will allow you to begin making shifts that alleviate negative feelings. I incorporate multiple modalities, including CBT, mindfulness, and somatic experiencing therapy. I believe everyone has the fundamental right to feel seen and validated by their therapist. I am conscious of my privileges as a white, cisgender man and how they might impact the therapeutic relationship. As a clinical social worker by training, I believe that we cannot separate ourselves from the environments in which we live. This means that our work will also take into consideration how systems outside of your individual control impact you.
