Coaching

Coaching is the act of guiding a person to achieve a specific goal, either professional or personal. Although therapists and coaches have similar approaches, coaches are typically more direct and have more frequent contact with clients than therapists, and focus on the specific goal at hand, rather than seeking the root of an issue. If you have a specific goal you'd like a professional perspective on, coaching might be a good step. Contact one of TherapyDen’s coaching experts today!

As a Mental Wellness coach, I help my clients gain clarity in their purpose and vision, guide them through the decision-making process, support them in removing blocks to progress in goals throughout all areas of their life, and assist them in overcoming imposter syndrome and other limiting beliefs. I'm trained and ICF-certified as a coach and have worked with clients navigating challenges in their careers, relationships, and life purpose since 2017. Coaching is not therapy and I do not practice coaching with my therapy clients (or vice-versa). However, what I've learned as a coach (and as a startup founder) deeply inform how I work with my therapy clients. I am also available to work with you specifically as a coach, if you are interested.

— Dan MacCombie, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in Jersey City, NJ

Coaching is used to foster forward movement and accountability. It is for those who need support on the path to change. It is a directive approach and enforces change. Coaching can be used in conjunction with therapy but is not a substitute for those who will benefit from healing trauma, anxiety, depression, self esteem, with therapy. It can be integrated during the course of therapy to help with consistency OR it can be used on it's own if one is seeking accountability toward a particular goal.

— Live Life Now! Counseling and Coaching Tonya Jordan, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor

Personal growth is a lifelong process that can help us all to live more fulfilling lives. If therapy is for those looking to grow by healing the wounds from the past, coaching can be for individuals who have made peace with the past (for the most part), and are looking to grow optimally in the present. Life can be so much more; we are full of potential, more than we realize. I am here to help you gain the skills and mindsets that you need to become your own guide of personal growth.

— I-Ching Grace Hung, Psychologist in San Francisco, CA

Coaching helps people identify their goals and the obstacles they are facing. Like therapy, coaching involves guidance and support but also places a great deal of emphasis on accountability, enabling people to do more than they might on their own.

— Adriana Beck, Licensed Professional Counselor in Frisco, TX

— Eleni Economides, Sex Therapist in Rochester, NY

I am certified as a Creative Grief Support Practitioner, or as I like to call myself-a Grief Coach. Grief Coaching also allows me to work with you regardless of what state you live in. As your coach, I can work with you anywhere. Grief coaching looks like helping you find your strengths so you can navigate the mess of grief. Grief coaching looks like having someone walk beside you through your process. Remember, I have been in similar shoes, you don't have to do this alone.

— Beth Erlander, Licensed Professional Counselor in Boulder, CO

As a Rehabilitation Counselor, I can coach and guide you to be able to determine your goals and next steps in your journey for mental health and life goals.

— MAGGIE METCALFE, Counselor in Acme, WA

I typically use coaching techniques to assist clients undergoing child custody evaluations or social studies in family court or family law cases to make the most thorough and effective presentations. I am familiar with what is required in these cases, and by using coaching and teaching techniques I can often ensure that my client is the best prepared parent at the courthouse. Evaluators themselves are also pleased when my clients are well prepared because it makes the evaluator's job easier. Due to modern technology, I can typically provide these services nationwide.

— Stephen Finstein, Therapist in Dallas, TX
